In November 1995, a group of believers began meeting regularly for a time of fellowship with God and one another. By 1996, God began to move upon this group of believers to begin a church for the purpose of “Serving Jesus while Serving Others.” Being obedient to that call, they continued to fellowship and follow the direction of the Holy Spirit. In these early stages they met in homes, community centers and hotel meeting rooms.

In late 1996, God opened the door for this new church to lease an old movie theater in the heart of the commercial district in Brownwood, Texas. This new congregation worked diligently to transform an old theater into a sanctuary of praise, prayer and Christ-centered ministry. In 1998 God brought Rick McClure to pastor this hungry congregation of believers at Abundant Life Church. Under his ministry, the congregation experienced wonderful growth.

In early 1999, God opened the door for Abundant Life Church to purchase a vacant piece of property near the theater and work began within a few months to build a brand new facility. By May 2000, a beautiful new ministry facility was complete with a sanctuary, fellowship hall, classrooms, nursery and offices.  Abundant Life Church is located in the heart of the retail district of Brownwood TX, situated in a highly visible location on the corner of two major highways entering the city.

In February 2009, Ron Jutze became the senior pastor of Abundant Life Church as a new chapter of ministry is now taking place and an amazing account of God’s grace is continuing to be developed by Jesus Christ. Today, Abundant Life Church is a vibrant growing church comprised of everyday people on a spiritual journey who are committed to working together to help each other grow in our relationship with God and one another.
